David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour towards women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
