Suspected Harasser Inquired: 'But Suppose I Am Madeleine?'
A female indicted with harassing Kate McCann reportedly left her a phone message which questioned: "what if I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, twenty-four, who a jury heard has consistently declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are on trial indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.
On Monday, the tribunal was told phone records and data recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test over 2023 and 2024.
Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most widely reported investigations and is still open.
'I Am Not Seeking Money'
One voicemail, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I realize I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I feel."
While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Isn't that crucial for you?"
"I am not seeking money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to discover," the recording stated.
The tribunal was advised that through electronic messages, SMS messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with law enforcement who compiled the evidence, informed the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt also communicated with close associates of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.
On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."
During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my claim."
The court learned the co-defendant developed a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in the county in December 2024.
Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to state the press had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the months leading up to the appearance to the village, that area, in December 2024.
The court heard communications between the two individuals, in that autumn, discussing trying to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from silverware at a eating establishment.
"We must make a stand," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.
On the night of the trip to their house, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which said: "We're currently positioned outside the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark like detectives. I had hoped to achieve this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
The case continues.
